Hello, My name is Aja Harrison, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) that is licensed at the Independent Level in the Commonwealth of \`Virginia to practice mental and behavioral health counseling. ) Currently, I work for a Virtual TeleHealth agency that assists children, adolescents, & adults that have been subjected to physical abuse, sexual abuse, drug abuse, neglect, and other pre-exposed trauma. Also, I am a Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC) that provides free counseling services to the men and women of the Armed Forces, as well as their families. I have over 10+ years of experience providing counseling services to families, children, and adults in individual face-to-face therapy sessions as well as group therapy with adolescents and/or adults the following areas:  • Teen Issues; Peer Pressure, Self Esteem  • Depressive Disorders  • Non-Suicidal Self-Harm Behavior  • Mood Disorders & Personality Disorders ie,..Bipolar as well as Schizophrenia • Anxiety Disorders  • Physical, Sexual, Emotional Abuse  • Anger and Stress Management  • Marriage and Family Therapy  • Military adjustments and struggles I became interested in counseling solely because I take pride in helping others succeed in life.  A holistic approach I utilize is exploring with and educating clients about how mind, spirit, and body are interconnected. My theory is that when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, they are free to experience change!
