Introduction
I have a Master’s in Social Work from an accredited school, Western New Mexico University, and am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). I have worked in various organizations in Nigeria (mostly NGOs—non-governmental organizations) and the United States (managed health care). My qualifications include; a Certificate in Early Childhood Education and an Associate Degree in Child Development and Family Relations (Nashville, USA). I have several foreign degrees; including linguistics (minor in English) and a postgraduate diploma in business administration and management.
I have been in the healthcare industry for over ten years, showing understanding and sensitivity to serving culturally diverse populations by offering creativity and flexibility in service delivery. Currently, I work for Amerigroup and perform double duty as a medical management specialist and a program administrator for behavioral health. I worked as a PRN for Rolling Hills Hospital, a psychiatric clinic, working with clients to resolve mental health issues and promote positive living choices. I am currently at Vanderbilt Psychiatry Hospital, working as a PRN assessment specialist. I use a thorough psycho-social assessment, treatment planning, and advocacy skills and specialize in situational assessments, conflict resolution, and effective communication. I am Amerigroup Team Captain for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and an active volunteer with Alive Hospice: contributing my time where help is needed.
You struggle because you feel no one understands you. You feel lost, lonely, and different. Remember, “What sets you apart can sometimes feel like a burden, and it’s not." And a lot of the time, it’s what makes you great.” —Emma Stone. Even in the Bible, God knew what He was doing, and He made you exactly the way He wanted you to be. Furthermore, you are unique; no one else in this world is exactly like you. (Think how dull the world would be if we were all exactly alike!) Even before you were born, God knew all about you, and He has a unique plan for you (Jeremiah 1:5).
I include biblical examples in the form of cognitive-behavioral therapy in helping my clients reach their goals and have self-love and appreciation for who they are as people. I believe working toward self-love will help my client focus on acceptance, comfortability, and self-respect. It is a powerful healing method that encourages positive self-esteem.
I strive to supply the highest quality of holistic, person-centered therapeutic services to adults, couples, and families while creating a non-judgmental environment to gain support, share experiences, and enhance relationships. I am here to work alongside you in your journey to self-actualization.
