Introduction
Hello, I am Karolena!
I'm a bilingual (English and Polish) Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Evette Wigginton LPC-S, LCDC. I am also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern. I have 7 years experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults.
I earned my Bachelors in Psychology and Criminal Justice from LaSalle University and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Substance Abuse Counseling from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I've worked in many different clinical settings ever since. I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with strong counseling abilities and an understanding of interpersonal familial relationships. I specialize in areas of trauma, abuse, grief, anxiety, and depression. I utilize an eclectic theoretical approach including aspects from Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I believe that everyone is unique and their therapy should be tailored to specifically fit each persons needs and goals.
I pride myself in providing a safe and supportive space, to work side by side to overcome traumas, and barriers. Through clinical experience, compassion, and empathy I support and assist those willing to make a positive difference in their lives.
Taking that next step to start counseling can seem scary, but it is a beautiful journey of self discovery and you do not have to do it alone. You can count on my empathetic and person-centered approach towards every conversation we take part on. Thank you for taking the first step and for allowing me to be part of this very important journey.
Look forward to meeting you!
