Maryam Muhammad

Hello, I am Maryam Muhammad! I'm a DrPH, LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor), LCADC (Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor) -Supervisor with 20 years of experience providing counseling to clients in need.  I earned my bachelor’s in psychology from UIC Circle Campus in Chicago.  I also earned my master’s in clinical mental health counseling and a doctorate in public health from Capella University. I've worked in many different clinical settings ever since. I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with strong counseling abilities and an understanding of interpersonal familial relationships. I am EMDR trained, a certified anger management specialist, suicide prevention, and harm reduction educator.  Through clinical experience, compassion, and empathy I support and assist those willing to make a positive difference in their lives. I pride myself in providing a safe and supportive space, to work side by side to overcome traumas, and barriers. I specialize in addressing addictions and trauma. I am fully committed to listening and offering my best professional practices to help you. You can count on my empathetic and person-centered approach towards every conversation we take part on.
