Xai Yang
LMSW
Hello, I am Xai! It is pronounced “Sai” or “Cy”. I'm a bilingual therapist, speaking both Hmong and English. I am licensed as a LMSW (License #: 106740). I have over 12 years of experience in Social Work. I have skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing Strategies to clients whom I have served. I earned my Bachelor in Social Work at St. Cloud State University. I subsequently earned my Master in Social Work from Columbia University in New York City. I have worked in many clinical settings since my graduation. My experience includes Child Welfare, crisis management, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), suicidal ideation, mental health issues and hospital Social Work.
I am a caring, uplifting and encouraging therapist. I have a strong ability to listen, collect stories, and focus on your healing component. I have worked with the most intense mental ill and underserved population because I felt that it was where my talent lies. I pride myself in helping people tell their stories, because that is the first step towards your healing, your discovery, and you living your full-potential. I strongly believe that you are not defined by your mental health diagnosis (if applicable).
I specialized in address suicidal ideation, men’s issues, anxiety, depression, and Cognitive behavior therapy strategies. Most important, I specialize in uplifting you. You can count on me being a member of your team. As a team member to your mental health, I am here to be calm, bring perspectives of the other side, challenging your catastrophizing (jumping to the worst conclusion) thinking, saying no to “perfectionism” and being here for you and with you. Thank you for taking the first step and for allowing me to be part of this very important journey. Look forward to meeting you!
