I'm a member of the Cherokee Nation and was raised in Oklahoma and Wyoming. My first full-time job was a Navy Hospitalcorpsman during the Vietnam War. After studying a year at Schiller International University in Heidelberg, Germany, I graduated from Cal State Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts in History. I earned a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri and taught in a K-12 Christian school in Fridley, Minnesota for about 2 years. I rejoined the Navy and became a photojournalist. I led photojournalist teams throughout the Eastern & Southeastern United States, Scotland, England, and Germany. I was invited to the White House twice (during the George H. W. Bush administration). While assigned to a Seabee Battalion on Guam, I became a PADI-certified Master Scuba Diver and Divemaster. I retired from the Navy in1996 and began a career in information technology, earning an MBA and a DBA in Management Information Systems. WhiIe working as an IT manager by day, I taught business technology courses in the evening at several private universities in Minneapolis and St. Paul . I transitioned into health care by becoming a mental health therapist after earning an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from the University of West Alabama. I'm particularly interested in nutritional psychology and healthcare data science. I've had great success teaching nutritional self-care to clients with depression, anxiety, and ADHD.
