I am a skilled and licensed professional Social Worker with over ten years of progressive experience working within the Mental Health field. I am a passionate, culturally sensitive professional who believes that therapeutic mental health services should be accessible, culturally sensitive and compassionate. I believe that Therapy should be a collaborative process that helps each individual develop self-awareness and restores power to individuals that may have once felt powerless over their lives.
I am a practitioner of various therapeutic modalities that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). Additionally, I am a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor(CASAC-T) DOT certified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). I work from a strength based approached. Depending upon the needs of the client, my approach can be solution focused or psychodynamic; assisting the client to develop insight into themselves and their concerns.
I have effectively worked with a variety of clients including those who are dealing with issues of grief, depression, anxiety, substance addictions, addictive behavior, relationship challenges, self-esteem and trauma . I have serviced populations that include those on Autism Spectrum, Children, Substance Abusers, Domestic Violence Survivors, and clients with behavioral health needs. My work with couples has included conflict resolution and mediation.
