Michele Glaser

LMSW

My name is Michele Glaser and I have my Master in Social Work, Masters in Education and I am a Certified Alcohol and Substance Use Counselor (CASAC). I am also competing my dissertation for my PhD in Social Work with a concentration on Mental health and Addiction. I provide individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples and families. One of my primary focuses is dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, and skill-building. I love working together with clients to rediscover themselves and reach their goals. Through the development of a strong therapeutic relationship, I help clients gain better insight into the underlying cause of their symptoms, empowering them to make positive life changes.

I believe that there are many forms of building rapport with clients and believe that there is not one cookie cutter approach to therapy. There is not a one size fits all approach to therapy and use different modalities including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and a plethora of more to make sure that the client is getting the best help that they deserve. I practice Solution-focused, person-centered and problem-solving skills and work together with the client to come up with short term and long-term goals that can be attained by working with clinician. Trusting your clinician is crucial to the engagement process and while it takes time to build trust, once the rapport is there and the client feels comfortable opening up, the possibilities are endless.

I am reliable, loyal, honest and will make sure that clients feel as comfortable as possible whether it is through open discussions and starting where the client is at. I will not push anyone to talk or dive into a topic that they are not ready to talk about until they are ready too. I have good insight, good judgment and will never end a session with the client feeling depressed or anxious. I want my clients to want to talk to me and not feel that they have to, making a safe environment through learning about each other and having the client feel that there is someone there for them whenever they need to talk.

I look forward to getting to know you and taking this journey with you!!!!!
