Lashaundrea Harris

LPC-A, LCDC

Hello, I'm La Shaundrea!

My values, beliefs, causes, and social platforms are aligned with the Christian worldview.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Associate and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with one-and-a-half year of experience providing formal counseling to clients in need.

I earned my Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. Additionally, I have a second Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science. I have nearly twenty years of experience in the mental health field working and volunteering at various community agencies. In my roles at these agencies, I have worked intensely in individual and group settings with adults and children who suffer from chronic mental illness, behavior disorders, and/or substance use disorders. Additionally, I have experience working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system as well as with children and parents involved in the foster care system. I have worked alone and as part of an interdisciplinary team to help create and execute treatment plans to help individuals recognize and resolve their mental health and substance abuse issues.

I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with strong counseling abilities and an understanding of interpersonal familial relationships. I have experience leading clients through identifying and exploring faulty thinking patterns and creating paths for effective change. Through clinical experience, compassion, empathy and unconditional positive regard I support and assist those willing to make a positive difference in their lives. I am passionate about providing a confidential and supportive space to work side by side to overcome traumas, barriers, and life struggles. I specialize in addressing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to help foster desired changes. I am fully committed to listen and offer my best professional practices to help you.

I am genuine and will gently challenge you while also remaining respectful and fully supportive of your autonomy. You can count on my empathetic and person-centered approach towards every conversation we engage in. Thank you for taking the first step and for allowing me to be part of this very important journey.

I truly look forward to meeting you!
