Kristin Roguszka
LPC-IT
My name is Krissy. I have a bachelor’s of arts in Psychology and a master’s of science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, earned at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
Over the past 4 years, I have had the honor working with adult clientele who struggle with addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief (to name a few). I am an empath by nature. I am always interested in learning about each person's past and how it affects his or her current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Often, these negatively impact and affect interpersonal relationships. I provide skills to my clients, which allow them to learn effective coping strategies. I assess what the individual would like to gain out of coming to therapy and customize their treatment to help them succeed in meeting their needs and goals. I use a variety of modalities, which I customize to make treatment unique to each individual I meet.
Each person has a unique journey when s/he is born that is unpredictable. From a young age, most people are not taught how to manage and/or express emotions effectively and turn to maladaptive behaviors to cope with traumatic encounters and stress. Without processing trauma, I believe it will continue to negatively impact an individual's journey.
I look forward to being part of your journey!
