Karen Ruiz
LMFT
Hi I’m Karen!
I'm a bilingual, Spanish speaking, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 5 years of experience providing individual, family, and couples therapy to clients in need. I earned my BA in Psychology from St.John’s University, and Masters in Marriage in Family Therapy from Hofstra University. I've worked in many different clinical settings and have gained experience working with diverse populations, including adolescents, teens, and adults.
I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with strong counseling abilities with an understanding of interpersonal relationships. I pride myself in providing a safe and supportive space as well as providing unconditional positive regard. I have experience leading clients through marital and family conflict resolution by helping them recognize behavioral patterns. I specialize in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, coping skills, life transitions, family conflict, and interpersonal relationships.
I am fully committed to listen and offer my best professional practices to help support you. I believe therapy is not one size fits all and therefore I draw approaches from a person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapy, providing interventions that best suit the individual.
Thank you for taking the first step and for allowing me to be part of this very important journey.
Look forward to meeting you!
