Grace Watkins
LMHC
Hello, I am Grace! I'm a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience providing evidence-based therapy to clients in need. I earned my Master’s degree in mental health counseling from Nyack College, and have more recently studied forensic psychology in a post graduate program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Over the years, I've worked in many different clinical settings including: a medical clinic, a scatter site housing program, a mental health clinic, a federal halfway house facility, an outpatient drug treatment program, a reentry housing program, and a medical health insurance company. I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with expertise in anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma. I have experience leading clients through various relaxation techniques including deep breathing, guided imagery, mindfulness, and other emotional regulation techniques via anger management training and DBT exercises.
Through person-centered counseling, I support and assist those willing to make a positive difference in their lives. I pride myself in providing a safe space for clients and to work collaboratively with them to help achieve their goals. Thank you for taking the first step and for allowing me to be part of this very important journey. I Look forward to meeting you!
I believe that all people are worth the time and effort needed for them to be heard and helped.
