Hello, I am Gene!
I'm a new Floridan, a licensed Mental Health Counselor PMH, with five years of experience providing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused (TF-CBT) counseling to clients in need.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Kent State University. I obtained my Master's of Science in Counseling from Capella University, and I am currently in the dissertation phase of my doctorate at Grand Canyon University. I've had the privilege of serving many different populations in various clinical settings. I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with strong counseling abilities and an understanding of interpersonal and familial relationships. I have experience leading clients in identifying core issues, helping them build coping skills, and motivating them to change. Through clinical experience, compassion, and empathy I support and assist those willing to make a positive difference in their lives. I pride myself in providing a safe and supportive space, to work side by side to overcome trauma and barriers. I specialize in addressing individuals' and couples' needs utilizing CBT/DBT, TF-CBT, and at times mixed-methods approach to counseling. I am fully committed to listening and offering my best professional practices to help you.
I am dedicated to helping clients find agency from within. You can count on my empathetic and person-centered approach in handling every conversation we take part on. Thank you for taking the first step and for allowing me to be part of this very important journey.
Look forward to meeting you!
