Francis Diaz Bonales

LMFT

I consider the last 15 years of clinical work as a journey into guiding and helping improve the quality of life a person maybe striving for. My goal is to embrace and support the goals which an individual may want to address. I am hands on and will guide and teach use of helpful interventions and tools for you to take with you and practice immediately. I believe in building on a person’s self-efficacy by empowering them to gain clarity, understand their strengths and work towards overcoming various challenges they may be experiencing. My background and training is strongly influenced by use of Mindfulness Based Treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Feedback Informed Care and Parent Child Interaction Therapy.

My education includes a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fullerton. I have 15 years practicing as a licensed provider. My experience has focused on treating individuals across the life span including Trauma, Anxiety/Stress, Depression, Relationship Problems, Parenting and Life Transitions.

Additionally, the last 3 years have offered valuable experience providing therapy via telehealth, incorporating various forms of technology including consistent use of digital tools and platforms to support the practice of coping skills, treatment planning, skill building all while continuing to nurture a supportive environment where a person can feel heard and understood.

The trajectory of my life has served to teach me and guide me in understanding how to live a life that is both balance and meaningful. I am a parent of two who have taught me lessons and strengthened my understanding of intention and purpose in living fully present. I have a great appreciation for the outdoors and enjoy camping, gardening, the beach and all the simple pleasures in my surroundings!
