I'm passionate about helping clients who are struggling with their identity, past traumas, stress management, and anxieties. I understand that seeking help can be really hard (trust me, I've been there!), so I strive to make the therapeutic experience as calming and grounding as possible. I believe that every person has numerous strengths to draw from when working on improving themselves and love being able to highlight those strengths. I use a warm, compassionate, and person-centered approach with my clients and will meet you where you are at. If you're ready to make a change, or even if you're on the fence, I would love to work with you.
I earned my Master's in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University and my Bachelor's in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My professional experience in schools, community mental health centers, within the child welfare system, and in private practice has given me a broad exposure to working with clients from every background. My identities as a South Asian, Muslim, first-generation American have given me true empathy, understanding, and an additional skill set that meets the needs of those communities.
I look forward to fostering a nonjudgmental safe space for you to feel truly heard and cared for. I will be patient and supportive as we work together on helping you live authentically. This might look like setting boundaries with family, working on people-pleasing tendencies, improving relationship issues, or healing from trauma. I can help highlight the strengths you already hold to empower you to be your best self. Thank you for considering me to be a part of your journey to growth and healing.
