Cynthia Cifuentes
LMHC
Hi, my name is Cynthia Cifuentes and I am a Bilingual Mental Health Counselor in NYS. I also possess a CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor). I earned a Master’s in Arts, in Mental Health Counseling, at Brooklyn College. I am experienced working with a wide range of clients- adults, teens and children, and working alongside other mental health professionals such as: social workers, psychiatrists, substance abuse counselors, etc. I have assisted with guiding clients through different concerns such as: depression, anxiety, trauma, codependency, sibling rivalry, marital, maternity issues, midlife crisis, adjustment issues, grief, and more. Through clinical experience, compassion and empathy, I support those working towards self-improvement. You can expect me to be genuine and provide a warm and safe space, in which you will feel understood. My theoretical orientation is integrative, meaning that I draw from various techniques such as: CBT, psychodynamic, Gestalt, Motivational interviewing and more. I like to take a person-centered approach and select the most suitable interventions to fit the client’s specific needs. Thank you for taking the first step and for allowing me to be part of this very important journey. I look forward to connecting with you.
