Arkava Smith

Hello, I’m Arkava!
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health with over 15 years of experience providing counseling to clients in need.
I earned my Bachelors in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Maryland and my Masters in Community Counseling from Wilmington University. I specialize in assisting clients dealing with substance use, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma, and chronic mental illnesses. I’ve provided treatment in many different clinical settings including community mental health, intensive outpatient, and correctional centers. I strive to create a safe space for my clients to explore the thoughts and feelings they’ve kept hidden and I will work diligently in assisting them to increase their self-awareness and develop healthier ways of coping. My approach in working with my clients is collaborative, empathetic, and non-judgmental.
Everyone’s journey is different, let us work together to find the best path forward towards healing, balance, and overall wellness. You can count on my supportive and person-centered approach towards every conversation we take part in.
Look forward to meeting you!
