Amy Smith

LCSW

I have been in practice since 1999, when I received my MSW from the University of Kentucky.
Work has been with families and children in multiple settings. I have also focused study on trauma informed care. I am comfortable with groups, and family interventions as well.
I have always enjoyed working with children and knew that I wanted to work with children and their families in some capacity. This work has been in a variety of settings, in patient, in-home, and outpatient. I have completed the training for Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and understand how trauma impacts an individual.
I am a client centered clinician, and believe that individuals and families are the experts on their own issues and lives. My hope is to help clients discover their strengths and move towards healing through the use of multiple modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
During my career, I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing children and their families and my passion is helping each person become the best version of themselves
