About

Family conflict can be a major factor in the development of anxiety and depression, and it's an important cause to consider when treating these mental health conditions.

Family conflict is a fairly broad term that refers to any type of disagreement or fighting that happens within a family. Some level of family conflict is normal; after all, families are often made up of people with different personalities, goals and expectations. But when conflicts become especially intense or frequent, they can be so overwhelming that they begin to interfere with your day-to-day life.

Telling the difference between "normal" family conflict, the kind that everyone experiences from time to time, and the more serious type that's most likely to lead to mental health issues isn't always easy. And even if you can tell which kind of conflict you're dealing with, it can still be difficult to actually manage. Therefore, a therapist can help you resolve family conflict between you and your family members.
